Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A heavy (2-1/2 lb.), 9-1/4 inch octavo in dull green cloth with gilt titles, complete with B&W frontispiece portrait of Stuart and the seven original folding maps (the Fredericksburg map in a wonderful three colors) including three in the rear pocket where we find the equa…lly impressive two-color maps of Richmond and of Brandy Station -- though the B&W map of the route of Stuart's Cavalry Division from Oct. 9, 1862 to July 2, 1863 has separated into two halves along the central fold line.) Blindstamped "Cornell University Library" to top right of title page, but the only other evidence of a library history is the removal scars of a manila attachment -- possibly a card holder -- from attached partial leaf that forms the rear map-pocket. No edge stampings, and if there was a Dewey number to spine, it's long removed. Errata slip tipped in at bottom of "List of Maps" page (unnumbered pg. xvii.) Both top and bottom page edges dyed dark gray. Small bookseller label of D.A. Bulen, Randolph Street, Meadville, PA to bottom of otherwise blank front Free Endpaper. Ending at pg. 417 with Stuart's death, followed by the Appendix and then the rolls of the First, Second and Third Virginia Cavalry, through pg. 468. Reduced from $300.
