Inside armorial bookplate of Douglas Service to front paste down, except for some sporadic mild foxing all rough cut pages and plates with top edge gilt in very good clean condition with many uncut pages.

Just about the only good book we have found on hunting the Walia ibex and with some hunting also for the elusive Mountain nyala. This is Maydon's rarest book. Good reading - an African mountain game hunting book. Original gilt cloth. Lightly bumped corners and tiny separation just starting in rear spine gutter (really small, we almost missed it).

First edition. Photographic plates, 5 maps, and a folding "Sketch Plan of the N.E. face of Simen Escarpment". 8vo (9 x 5 3/4 inches), 244-pages plus 1 page of Witherby's List. Original green cloth; backstrip sunned, very clean internally. Prize label on front pastedown.
