Includes staple-bound introduction, subscription letter, fold-out infographic, original wrappings (tissue, vellum, seal and green belly-band) with ten contact prints. Ten contact p…rints: each the exact size of the original negative (2.5"x3.5") and dry-mounted to an 8.75"x10.75" folio mat with blindstamped and hand-numbered seal of authentication. The interior of each folio contains an essay on the subject. A 400x enlargement (light horizontal crease to top margin) of the Lincoln portrait is included in its folio. Subjects are: Abraham Lincoln, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Samuel F. B. Morse, William Tecumseh Sherman, Henry Ward Beecher, Phineas Taylor Barnum, Edwin Thomas Booth, David Glasgow Farragut, Mary Todd Lincoln and Oliver Wendell Holmes. One interior corner of solander box bumped. Light rust to most staples and some staining from these to tissue. All folios fine. From a limited edition numbered 204 of 2500 copies.

Photograph: 8-1/4" x 7-3/16" Originally from Ohio, Clisbee relocated to Michigan and became a prominent Michigan politician in the latter half of the 19th C., servi…ng in such roles as Reading Clerk of the House of Representatives of the Fortieth Congress. Further, he was active civicly, e.g., he served the local public schools either as Trustee or as a school officer and was instrumental in organizing the First National Bank of Cassopolis of which he became Director. [cf. American Biographical History of Eminent and Self-Made Men, Michigan. Cincinnati: 1878, pp 18]. Photograph with a bit of the usual yellowing, though image detail remains clear & sharp. Modest age-toning to mount. A VG+ item. Now housed in a clear archival mylar sleeve.
