Many forms are shown in facsimile. The book is principally for the newly appointed master of a merchant vessel but it may be of some assistance to more experienced masters as a check in completion of necessary paperwork. Includes an index, which is very comprehensive. A inspection of the book shows no underlining, no highlighting, no folded pages, no markings, not an ex-libris, not a remainder. While the passage of time has occurred since publication, some parts of this work are probably relevant and some might not be. If this is so, the work may be of historic interest on what used to be done. A very serviceable copy.

The voyage continued to Brazil and up the Amazon, engaged in smuggling and a mutiny. Arriving in the West Indies for repairs and onward to Florida for a load of timber and home across the North Atlantic only to be shipwrecked in a hurricane. It is well illustrated with the colored international code of signals, charts, tables, and advertisements. Considering the 1939 publishing date, this probably was used by the British in WWII.
