Al ser la transcripción de un diario/informe, Informe bajo llave se lee como un texto dentro de otro texto. La escritora Lynch es autora del relato pero es, a la vez,… lectora de un relato en un segundo grado y se convierte así en un eje-espejo que se encuentra entre la narradora y los narratarios, para transgredir las formas clásicas de narración. Además, la narradora, Adela, es a la vez una escritora, alter-ego de la propia Marta Lynch. Estos recursos narrativos sirven para dar sentido a la novela, con el propósito de suspender toda noción de incredulidad. Gracias a estas estrategias, se describe una situación fragmentada que corresponde al caos mental de Adela, y a la vez, muestra la violencia de los años de dictadura. Este texto ha tenido varios tipos de lectores: el siquiatra, Marta Lynch y ahora nosotros, los lectores. Adela se dirige a todos nosotros para que compartamos con ella su historia: 'El sueño más apetecible de cualquier escritor es convertir a su lector en cómplice.'
