Written to American historian and collector Ben W. Austin, in part: ".My best thanks to the members of the historical society for the honor bestowing upon me.membership in their society. In or…der to obtain a photograph as you requested.I have delayed writing." Also included is the original photograph provided by Marshall -- an oval albumin print, circa 1890, 4.5 inches in diameter, mounted to the original matte identifying the sculptor as a member of the Royal Academy. Scottish born sculptor who was the most prolific exhibitor of statuary at the Royal Academy during the Victorian era.
