Condition: Good. 1952. First Published. 323 pages. Blue dust jacket with lettering over blue cloth. Moderate tanning, with light foxing and marking to pages. Some rub-marking and foxing to pastedowns and endpapers with inscriptions to front. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Light bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends. Book has noticeable forward lean. Clipped jacket has light edge-wear with minor tears and chipping. Moderate tanning and creasing, with rubbing and marking.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Thus. Dust wrapper is somewhat rubbed, some soiling and one more pronounced mark to front cover where a label has been removed. Tear to upper rear edge, has been internally repaired with non acidic archive tape, wrapper now in clear removable protective sleeve. Not price clipped, no inscriptions, clean internally with little wear, just some slight browning to end papers. Heavy book, will require additional postage outside the UK.

Pages are fairly bright with light tanning and foxing to free endpapers and text block edges. Pencil inscription to front paste-down, with a few small nicks along text block edge. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with minor corner bumping. Faint tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Clipped jacket has moderate edgewear, with small tears and creasing to edges, corners and spine ends. Water drop on rear panel. Moderate tanning down spine.
