Condition: Very Good. Unpublished manuscript signed by the author Mark Garfit. A soft cover pocket book in pale blue wrappers, all edges gilt, containing 46 pages of poetry and prayers mostly in one neat hand. The book originates from Haileybury and Imperial Service College, Hertford, as it contains a prayer entitled "Haileybury College for the first Sunday of Term". The "Ode to the young prince Albert Victor" dates the book to around 1865. Titles include "Birthday Lines", "Santiago" and other religious subjects. The notebook fits snugly within a finely embossed slipcase decorated with crowns, shamrocks and thistles. Both are in very good condition. An attractive and fascinating item.
