Petite étiquette gravée, 5 x 3, au centre d'un papier vergé (16 x 10,5). Marie Brizard est une entreprise bordelaise restée familiale pendant près de deux siècles et demi. L'historien bordelais Hubert Bonin a montré le rôle, au sein de la famille Brizard, des "deux femmes d'affaires", Marie (Bordeaux, 1714 - 1800), et Jeanne, dans le développement de la liqueur anisée bordelaise. Jeanne (1754 - 1821) est la fille de Martial Brizard, qui s'était installé en 1751 comme marchand liquoriste place Royale , l'actuelle place de la Bourse. Martial est un des fils de Pierre Brizard , "charpentier de barriques" quai de Paludate et frère de Marie, qui a donné le nom à la société. Jeanne, épouse de Pierre Dalheu sera veuve à vingt-ans en 1774, restera jusqu'au début du XIXe siècle à la tête de son affaire en tant que "marchand et distillateur liquoriste".
