Good+ in Wraps: shows light wear to the extremities; moderate overall rubbing to the panels; a single very fine stress crease to the front panel and a couple of creases at the backstrip; the expected light tanning to the text pages due to a…ging; the upper corner of the first half of the text appears to have been exposed to moisture, and shows a hint of 'crinkliness' but no overt dampstains; a couple of short red pen marks, one to the lower front panel and the other to the backstrip; the binding leans very slightly but remains secure; the text is clean. Free of any creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A good used copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing moderate wear and a number of minor, unobtrusive imperfections. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. Large 8vo (9.25 x 6.15 x 1.05 inches). Language: English. Weight: 18 ounces. Trade Paperback. In the 1960s Mare and Jeff Carter staged their own 'Sea Change'. Swapping city life for a cottage in the Australian bush, Mare was searching for a better way to live and bring up their children. But she soon discovered life had lot more in store for her. Within months hers had become a surrogate home for orphaned and injured a string of lovable wombats, a solitary but sexually frustrated kangaroo, madcap emus, eagles, wallabies, dingos and many more. Ultimately Mare's farm became one of Australia's most popular wildlife sanctuaries, attracting more than 25,000 visitors a year. But A WILD LIFE is much more than a captivating story of creatures great and small. It is the memoir of an extraordinary woman, determined to follow a different life path and live out her dream against all the odds. Mare writes with warmth and humour about her very unconventional family and of the realities both harsh and hilarious of living in the wild. ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; xiii, 340 pages.
