Gift quality, second printing hardcover, (published one month after the first, same year) in bright, clean orange cloth covered boards with sharp tips and bumped spine ends. Age-toned endpapers show a pair of marine blue circular silhouettes of a… huntsman with his hounds. There are no other illustrations. 376pp text is tight and clean. Dedicated to M. & M. W. W. (as published) on an early page for the season 1935-1936. Unclipped, original dj has a few short closed tears at head of rear panel, small rubs/creases/color loss at spine ends and tips but is 95% complete and displays well in new mylar. A very hard to find offering for the lover of field sport and trying relationships. If you love open country - if the challenge and clash and skill of sport lure you - if the sight of straining hounds and spirited horses excites you - or if you simply want to read a good story, you will thoroughly enjoy this one. Victor Greenwood is Master of the Hunt.
