Soft cover. Condition: Very Good ++. First Edition. SUBTITLED : ` Aspects of French Art 1966 - 1986. 'This is a 68 page exhibition catalogue. The exhibit ran at VAG from July to Ocober in 1986. Annette Messager and Gerard Garouste are two examples of the eight artists represented. Each artist is given a short bio. Works are repr…oduced in b/w and colour. Many types of work - painting, construction, etc. are represented. Cond : Paper wrapper is black with red (and white ) lettering. No cover graphics. Tight, bright, clean. Light general wear. No creases, no tears. Half-title has a signature that could almost be that of an artist - as opposed to a p/o. Quote (p. 13) : " For a long time formalistic historians and critics have wanted us to believe that art was developing in one direction. Delacroix, Cezanne and Matisse were systematically cited to support this supposition. The individualist approaches of artists such as Courbet, ._._._. ." Size: 4to.
