Add to basketCondition: Very Good. First Edition. The volume celebrates Haykin?s scholarly contributions to the history of Christian spirituality and models an approach that integrates historical research with theological insight and practical application for contemporary believers. The editors (both former students of Haykin) and more than twenty contributors examine selected aspects of piety and devotion across church history rather than offering comprehensive surveys of entire periods or figures. The book opens with biographical sketches of Haykin (including his early life, conversion in 1974, and academic career) and introductory material. The main body is organized into four chronological sections: Patristics and Medieval, Reformation and Puritan, Evangelicalism and Modern, and Baptists. It concludes with "In Honor" of Michael A. G. Haykin.ABOUT THIS COPY: This first edition is a softcover with a patterned cover in dark teal and black with white lettering. Illustrated with some pictures in black and white. Also contains an afterward and a select bibliography. xxii, 517 pp. Advertisements for other books by the publisher at the back.
