    Quarto; hardcover, decorated papered boards with upper board titles; 12pp., with 23pp. of colour plates. Mild wear; mild wear to the board edges; some spotting to the text block edges; mild offset to the endpapers; previous owner's name in ink to the half-title page. Dustwrapper is mildly rubbed; edgeworn with a few small tears and associated creasing; spotted on the verso; now backed by archival-quality white paper and professionally protected by superior non-adhesive polypropylene film. Very good. Postage quoted is for a standard format octavo book. Final charges may vary depending on size and weight.

    Original Wraps. Condition: Near Fine. Redoute, Pierre-Joseph (illustrator). xvi, 29 colour plates. Pictorial French wraps. Short closed tears to glassine and one case at head of spine of wraps. Slight creasing at bottom edge of pages. Internally clean and bright. Pierre-Joseph Redoute was patronised by both Marie Antoinette and Empress Josephine and his rose paintings were bought by Charles X and are highly valued. Folio.

Loss to rear panel/ spine and some tears, a few stains and markings to back. Leaves slightly yellowed to edges but clean, plates vibrant. Pierre-Joseph Redoute was patronised by both Marie Antoinette and Empress Josephine. The botanical prints were originally intended as a scientific treatise but became celebrated for their detail and beauty. An uncommon hardcover. Folio.
