Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Scott Maclain (illustrator). 1st Edition. Ex-library book (discard); it looks like it once had a library pocket affixed to the inside of the back cover, but it was removed leaving a bit of surface tearing where the pocket was located. Has several library stamps and stickers. The upper left corner of the front cover has been damaged - part of the cover was scuffed off, leaving some soft fibers (see pictures). There is a name stamped on the inside of the front and back covers. There is a signature on the title page, which matches the name of the author (see pictures -- do not know the history of the signature). Otherwise, there is no writing or highlighting on the pages, with the exception of the library markings. First Edition, as stated on the copyright page (see pictures). Good reading copy if you don't mind ex-library books and the damage to the cover. See pictures for more details.

In beige cloth boards with brown illustration (for children on galloping horses) and brown titles on spine (boards are bright and clean, very slightly rounded at spine tips, text block edges spotted). A dull presentation plate on the front free endpaper indicating that this volume was once presented to one Shirley Briggs by the Headmaster of Stockton Heath County Secondary School). Coloured endpapers. A little light spotting on first and last few leaves. Small mark on rear endpapers. Just about very good condition. In its original dust jacket (rubbed and chipped at edges, heavily chipped with minor loss around upper leading corner and rear spine fold, sunned spine). Dust jacket now protected in an archival quality Mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. Sally Watson's first novel, and the first in her English Family Tree series, scarce. 8vo.

No Folded Pages, I doubt this copy was read more than a few times. Dust Jacket Condition: A Solid Very Good++, NOT price clipped at $2.75. Minor edge wear to the head of the spine, and a split at the top of the rear flap fold-(1"). Very Nicely preserved. This Authors Very Scarce First Book. A Very Nice Edition.
