These recipes for home-made wines have been collected from members of the Scottish Women's Rural Instiutes. Mr. I.C. MacKenzie has given advice on his simple approach to winemaking, and Mrs. MacInnnes has supplied helpful hints. It includes recipes for apricot wine, banana wine, birch wine, dandelion wine, mead, potato sherry, rice wine, sloe wine, wheat wine, and raspberry vinegar. The book is spiral-bound in the original card covers with titling and an illustration of a corkscrew on the front cover. The book is in very good condition with shelf wear and some soiling to the covers. The contents are secure and clean with a stain on the fore edge of the inside of the front cover and fore edge of the first fourteen pages. A small card weight and temperature conversion chart is attached by string to the spiral binding. There is no inscription.
