Chiquita is a waltz written by L Wolfe Gilbert and Mabel Wayne. In the US, above the song title, there were the words 'A New Waltz Song by the Writers of Ramona'. In France & Quebec, the line above the title is 'Avec Paroles Francaises', or 'With French Lyrics'. The music is in fine shape; the cover has a few bumps, which can be fixed by a restorer or framer. By Tot Seymour and Mabel Wayne. 1930 Tot Seymour (1889-1966) was a successful song-writer in her day, writing songs for Fannie Brice, Mae West, Sophie Tucker and Belle Baker. Her hits included Swingin in a Hammock, On the Beach With You, and I'm Makin Hay in the Moonlight. Mabel Wayne (1890-1978) was both a classically-trained pianist and a vaudeville dancer. She became known for her Latin-tinged songs, including Ramona and In a Little Spanish Town. I have the cover for the original music of Ramona, featuring its star Dolores Del Rio, and the cover of In a Little Spanish Town. You can have them free with this purchase.
