Heavy tanning to endpapers. Boards have some edge wear, with mild bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are slightly crushed. Rather scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Spine is heavily sunned. A few liquid droplet marks to spine. Strips of sunning front and rear. Book has a heavy forward lean.

The author was a missionary and teacher in a school at Mbereshi, south of Lake Mweru in what was then Northern Rhodesia, for seventeen years from 1915.
