Original wraps. Condition: Very good. First Edition. 56p quarto, Last page has a closed tear otherwise a very good copy in black and white printed wraps. Lunsford 1882-1973 was called the "Minstrel of the Appalachians" He began to travel and collect material at the start of the 20th Century, often meeting singers on isolated far…ms. He has been quoted as saying he spent "nights in more homes from Harpers Ferry to Iron Mountain than anybody but God" Laid in is a program from the Mountain Dance and Folk Festival for 1962 (with Lunsford as its Director) sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Asheville, NC. It was founded in 1928. Lunsford was asked to invite local dancers and singers and directed and performed there every year until his stroke in 1965.
