      Hardcover. Third Edition. A rare complete set of vols. 1-32 bound as 32 hardcover books. Ex-library with shelf labels on spines and library stamps on title pages and endpapers. White cloth stamped in gilt. Each volume measures 8x12 inches and is approximately two inches thick. Books are in overall good or better condition and do not appear to have seen much use. Massive history of the Franciscan Order, stretching from 1208 to 1680. Begun by Luke Wadding and continued by other Franciscans. Wadding (1588-1657) was an Irish Franciscan priest and historian. Prominent at Rome, he founded the Irish Pontifical College and worked to advance Irish causes in the Vatican. The Annales is his best known work and was completed by others after his death. This is the third edition and is edited by Jose Maria de Fonseca.
