36.5 × 26 cm. 21 sheets, presented in the publisher?s box, lined with yellow fabric, with colour details on the title of the work in the centre of the front board. Richly illustrated in colour with 10 original silkscreen prints by Jesús Soto. Printed at the Oficina Samuel Villa in Milan on Rosaspina paper, under the supervision of Sergio Tosi, for Ediciones ?S? of Caracas, on 20 November 1975. Copy No. 64 of a special edition of 80, numbered from 6 to 85, signed by the authors. There is a typographical error in the handwritten numbering of the copy, which reads 185 instead of 85. Only 200 copies plus 5 were published, of which: 5 deluxe copies numbered from 1 to 5, including a series autographed by the authors and an original preparatory sketch; 80 copies numbered from 6 to 85, with an additional series numbered and signed by the artist; 100 copies numbered from 86 to 185, signed by the authors; 15 signed copies, not for sale, numbered from I to XV, for the authors and contributors; and a separate print run of five copies of this edition was also produced, dedicated to the poets. A unique edition comprising five unpublished poems by Luis Pastori, accompanied by five original silkscreen prints by Jesús Soto, plus a further five silkscreen prints identical to those accompanying the poems, each numbered in the edition and signed by the artist. Soto?s silkscreen prints, known for their use of geometric abstraction and the illusion of movement, reinforce these themes by conveying dynamism and a sense of continuous transformation. Luis Pastori (La Victoria, Aragua State; 1921 ? Caracas, Venezuela; 2013) was one of Venezuela?s leading poets, born in La Victoria. He graduated with a degree in Economics, published a vast body of poetry, wrote the lyrics to the anthem of the Central University of Venezuela, and received major literary honours, such as the National Literature Prize. In addition to his literary career, he held prominent positions in Venezuelan cultural life and was recognised for his dedication to friendship and the promotion of poetry. Jesús Rafael Soto (Ciudad Bolívar, 1923 ? Paris, 2005) was a Venezuelan artist and one of the leading figures in kinetic art, noted for his exploration of movement, space and visual perception. In 1942, he was awarded a scholarship to study at the School of Fine Arts in Caracas, where he met Carlos Cruz-Díez and Alejandro Otero. Shortly after graduating, he directed the School of Fine Arts in Maracaibo from 1947 to 1950, when he moved to Paris. There, he began his association with geometric abstraction and kinetic art, joining forces with Yaacov Agam, Jean Tinguely, Victor Vasarely and other artists linked to the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles and the Galerie Denise René. His works, particularly the Penetrables, invite the public to participate actively in the artistic experience.
