Paperback. Condition: Good. Survival is a common practice. We cannot do it alone; we need each other. We need tools and practices that help us to connect, to understand to build, to survive in this age of climate crisis, technological upheaval, existential pain. We need words and values and ideas that extend beyond the human space. We need to learn; and we need to unlearn. We need a Manual for Survival. Ways of surviving together in an experimental and solidarity-based manner ? this book wants to make other world designs accessible through and beyond artistic practice. The art in this book reflects on the nature, the planetary, transcendental questions of global connectivity as well as on community, a sense of playfulness, togetherness, shared experiences through culture. A high quality and richly illustrated book with innovative texts following the idea that we have to learn to live and think in contradictions without losing ourselves. Artists include: Panteha Abareshi, Yalda Afsah, Abbas Akhavan, Assemble, Mohammed Bourouissa, Andrea Bowers, James Bridle, Sam Chermayeff, Edith Dekyndt, Simon Denny, Cao Fei, Liam Gillick, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Lubiana Himid, Leon Kahane, Kablusiak, Paul Kolling, Carolyn Lazard, Sharon Lockhart, Taus Makhacheva, Shaun Motsi, Goshka Macuga, Jota Mombaça, New Red Order (NRO), Olaf Nicolai, Christelle Oyiri, Celine Pages & Christine Marchal, Trevor Paglen, Grayson Perry, Bruno Serralongue, Jeremy Shaw, Charles Stankievech, Ron Terada, Syrus Marcus Ware, Emmanuel Van der Auwera, et al.…

Gebunden. Condition: Sehr gut.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. After the anniversary exhibition 25 Years Sammlung Falckenberg in 2019, which was dedicated to installations as a core medium of the Falckenberg Collection, the focus in 2025 will now be on painting. The exhibition How's My Painting? is the first comprehensive presentation of the medium, featuring more than 100 works from the Falckenberg Collection. From Werner Bue ttner, Albert Oehlen, and Martin Kippenberger, who shook up the established art world of the 1980s with their punk-inspired attitude and, together with their American peers Raymond Pettibon and Mike Kelley, embody the concept of counterculture that characterizes the Falckenberg Collection, the exhibition spans a wide range of the medium, from panel painting to its installative, deconstructive, and conceptual forms. Many of the works have not been shown in the collection for quite some time. In addition to the artists mentioned above, the exhibition also includes works by works by Vito Acconci, Donald Baechler, John Baldessari, Kati Barath, Robert Barry, Monica Bonvicini, Nicole Eisenman, Urs Fischer, Gue nther Foe rg, Anna Gudjohnsdottir, Philip Guston, Hans Haacke, Michel Majerus, Jonathan Meese, Manuel Ocampo et. al. Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. The exhibition I Love Contradictions at the Sammlung Falckenberg offers a new perspective on the work of Daniel Spoerri (1930- 2024) and the enduring relevance of his artistic thinking. After his first career as a classical dancer, Spoerri co-founded the Nouveaux Re alistes group in Paris in 1960 together with Yves Klein, Jean Tinguely, Niki de Saint-Phalle, and other fellow artists, evolving into a formative representative of object art. Distancing himself from abstract art and building on the readymades and Neo-Dada of the 1960s, Spoerri created his own art genre with his snare pictures and established Eat Art in the 1970s. In dialogue with works from the Sammlung Falckenberg, the diverse connections between Daniel Spoerri's artistic approach and the consumer-critical and socially critical stances found in the collection unfold. Artists like Dieter Roth or Emmett Williams were companions of Spoerri's during the 1960s and 70s; Gianfranco Baruchello, OE yvind FahlstrOE m, and Spoerri exhibited together with the Nouveaux Re alistes for the first time in New York in 1962. Material-aesthetic and conceptual parallels can in turn be found in the work of Mark Dion, Mariella Mosler et.al. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…

Trade Paperback. Condition: New. For almost 40 years, Turner Prize winning British artist Antony Gormley has been creating sculptures that explore the relationship between the body and space. This exhibition catalog documents his spectacular new installation Horizon Field Hamburg, designed for the large Deichtorhalle at Documenta 2012, in which a vast, black, reflective structure floats 25 feet above the floor. The suspended, slightly oscillating platform exploits the structural potential and architectural context of the building. Horizontal Field Hamburg elicits an experience of re orientation and reconnection mediated through vibration, sound, and reflection by functioning as a horizontal painting stretched taut in space. The viewer becomes a figure in an undefined, free floating spatio-temporal matrix. Essays by Iaian Boyd Whyte, Stephen Levinson and Dirk Luckow.…
