An instructional book for playing the banjo. Includes notes and depictions of playing strategies. The work features many illustrations and pieces of music. The volume shows external age/wear with loss of leather, half of the spine cover lacking, moisture marks to both boards, soiling of the boards and rubbing to the extremities of the boards. The text block is solidly bound with age-toned pages. Paper loss to upper right corner of one leaf [pages 23 and 24]. A publisher's sticker is present on the title page, Hnery Wheman, NY. The illustrations display well, remaining bright and clean. The book measures approximately 8 3/4" x 11 3/4" and contains 94 pages.
