Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a collection of essays and stories that explore the nature of morality, nature, and the human condition. The author, a nature-loving former soldier, reflects on his experiences during and after the war, sharing his unique perspective on life and the world around him. Through his observations of the natural world, particularly spiders and insects, he challenges conventional notions of morality and social norms, arguing for a more individualized and compassionate approach to life. The author's insights on the interconnectedness of all living things, the beauty of solitude, and the importance of finding meaning and purpose in life offer a thought-provoking and inspiring read for those seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

First Edition
Cloth. Condition: Good +. No Jacket. (1st Edition). 196p. Cover stained on front with a small bubble and spine sunned. Hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains north of Los Angeles, the narrator meets a shell-shocked veteran of World War I who has taken refuge in the area. Although the young veteran remembers his past, he has forgotten his name, for which the narrator christens him Deka Parsec, a backward spelling of a supposed Arabian mystic. Deka shares his worldview in this collection of short tales, reviewed in the Oakland Tribune December 4, 1921, as presenting "[a]n odd slant at things, the unusual as opposed to the startling, and plenty of exposition of the writer's philosophy." (8"x5-1/2").

Bo?sel,Richard - Menniti Ippolito,Antonio - Spiriti,Andrea.
