Light soiling and spotting to edges of text block. Endpapers lightly soiled. Previous owner's name to title page and first page of text; a few spots and marks on other pages but generally clean. In quite good blue bevel edged cloth boards, black titles and sea creature and floral motif to front. The covers are fairly clean; a little wobbly from cracked hinge; edge-worn, corners bumped and frayed. The rear free end paper is marked, the front end papers are lightly marked, with names of previous owners; the centre is split and shows the webbing.Dark tinted top cut edge; the fore and tail edges are slightly tanned. The text block is in very good condition for age; with tightly bound pages, straight and only very lightly tanned on most page edges. With 435 beautiful b/w illustrations. Publisher's list to rear. Condition overall is good. Without jacket.
