Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Good. Reprint. 'London, 1824' [False imprint: in fact an undated (1883) reprint]. i-xiii,[2],14-216pp. Rose 2107. Kearney 852/853. §The known nineteenth century versions of Haddington's verse tend to pair him with another similar versifier, in this case his son, Lord Binning. 'The Duke of Argyll's Levee' is… attributed to Joseph Mitchell. This is an undated (1883) reprint of the 1824 version, perhaps published by John Camden Hotten. Neatly bound in original or slightly later half-morocco, gilt lettering & decoration, raised bands, top edge gilt, marbled boards. Modern ownership name to fly-leaf. Old bookseller's catalogue entry tipped onto front pastedown. Outer joints a little tender, but holding. In other respects, a very good copy.
