Two items relating to Mark Boyle's Journey to the Surface of the Earth, including (1) 'Journey to the Surface of the Earth' a 30 x 21cm loose leaf document, 26 leaves printed recto-only. Different paper types in cracked plastic clasp. Undated, but c.1966 to accompany the land art exhibition 'Earthprobe' by Mark Boyle in collaboration with John Claxton and Joan Hills (of The Sensual Laboratory and The Institute of Contemporary Archaeology). A rare ephemeral collection resembles a departmental report, comprising maps, photographs, excerpts from reviews, telegrams and repurposed material. An important precursor to psychogeography.
