With the small blind-stamp of John Michael Blundall (1937-2014) one of the world's leading designers, m…akers and performers of puppet theatre. Among many other things he created puppet characters in,'Supercar',n'Fireball XL5', 'Stingray' and 'Thunderbirds'. He was also a collector of books on every aspect of the theatre. Architecture and art magazine that appeared from 1918 to 1932. Text in Dutch and English. Slight creasing to covers and some rubbing at spine and corners, otherwise sound, near very good.

Kop verguld. Gezet uit historische lettertypen van Joh. Enschedé & Zonen en gedrukt op Hollands papier in een oplage van 500 exemplaren. 1e druk. Mooi e…xemplaar met exlibris van B.A. Venemans en met diens inliggende aantekeningen voor een artikel uit 1961(?) over 'De waarde van het Psalmboek'. Bijzondere, moeilijk te beschrijven boekband: elk afzonderlijk exemplaar van deze uitgave werd met de hand op de linnen band (voorplat, rug, achterplat) geëtst, waardoor geen exemplaar precies hetzelfde is. Lion Cachet was ingenomen met het resultaat van dit kunstzinnige experiment: 'Ik voor mij heb geen band ooit op linnen gemaakt, dien ik zoo geslaagd vind en waarover ik zoo tevreden ben als dezen'. Lang niet alle exemplaren van deze titel zijn voorzien van deze kunstenaarsband. Braches Bouwstoffen 1080. Ook het binnenwerk is met zorg gedrukt bij Joh. Enschedé & Zonen. Daarbij werd gebruik gemaakt van oude Schwabacher- en Frakturletters, waarvan de geschiedenis uit en te na uit de doeken wordt gedaan (p. XI-XII), compleet met het verhaal van de Spaanse zeerovers die twaalf in Pennsylvania gedrukte Lutherbijbels te gelde maakten. Ds. B.A. Venemans (1908-1992) was een van de twee initiatiefnemers van de bibliofiele Marnixpers, een productief auteur en verzamelaar van oude Luther-drukken.
