(Australia), Limited, Edinburgh, n.d.[1933?]. Australian edition. Notable British Trials series. *Knowles was tried and sentenced for the murder of his wife in the Chief Commissioner's Court of Ashanti, Ghana, in 1928. His conviction caused an outcry, because he was tried under the local system, without defence counsel, without a jury, and without right of appeal.
