Red boards with black lettering to spine and gold design to front ar…e very good with a little pushing/bumping to corners, fading to spine, the odd small mark, odd small bump/rub to edges and a little wear (pushing/rubbing/slight fraying to the cloth) to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Neat gift inscription and date in pen to front end-paper. Paper inside back board is a little wrinkled (a production fault). Pages bit tanned. Odd small mark/spot of foxing to page edges, tops and bottoms. Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. A nice copy. All books described honestly and accurately. Originally published in the US by Random House in 1951. There is a little bumping to the corners of the boards which are otherwise unmarked. Quite he…avy browning to the page edges and the pages are also browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. The jacket has quite a bit of browning to the spine with some chipping with a little loss at the top and bottom - the bottom has a quarter-inch piece missing. The front panel has three small chips and a few small tears to the edges with two small stains. The rear panel has a small hole to the surface towards the bottom edge and a little edge chipping.
