His name and the "Philologus hebraeograecus" figures in the short story "The death and Compass", by Jorge Luis Borges. Leusden here adapts the Hebrew lexicon of the Scottish Hebraist William Robertson. Rubbed binding with missing caps, the folding portrait is unstitched, otherwise good condition. L'orientaliste hollandais, Johannes Leusden (1624-1699) fut professeur d'hébreu à Utrecht. Son nom et le "Philologus hebraeograecus" figurent dans la nouvelle "La mort et la boussole", de Jorge Luis Borges. Leusden adapte ici le lexique hébreu de l'hébraïste écossais William Robertson. Etat satisfaisant (reliure frottée avec manques en coiffes, le portrait dépliant est débroché, bon état par ailleurs). Langue: Latin.
