Careful examination reveals that the book lacks the title/copyright leaf, with the half-title page followed directly by the dedication page. Evidence of removal is faint but present. Aside from the missing leaf, the text appears complete. The original dust jacket retains the publisher's $7.95 price and is protected in an archival sleeve. Protective sleeve may be removal but not attempted so as not to damage the jacket. Published by Doubleday in 1970. Because the title/copyright leaf is absent, definitive first-printing verification is not possible. The original priced dust jacket indicates an early trade issue rather than a Book Club Edition.
