A single issue of this influential American journal of contemporary classical music and avant-garde composition of the first half of the 20th century, this copy from 1944 when New York had become the centre of avant-garde creativity which had been displaced from Europe. Highlights in this issue include a brief Paul Bowles piece "In the Theatre", Alfred Frankenstein on "Milhaud's Midian in Orchestral Debut" and Serge Prokofiev on "My Cinderella".
