Cramer and co. in c.1890.In the publisher's original brown cloth, with a frontispiece of 'Proud Maisie' by pre-Raphaelite painter Frederick Sandys. Contains many pages of sheet music and an original advertisement leaf at the rear.Macleod and Boulton wished to bring to the public a variety of traditional Scottish melodies that are less well-known to the public, using both Lowland and Highland dialects. Songs include those with lyrics written by Robert Crawford, Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns. In the publisher's original brown cloth. Externally, smart, with the odd mark to the extremities, including three marks to right edge of front board. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. Minor rubbing to the front joint and edgewear. Slight offsetting to the free end paper, and the odd faint spot to paste downs. Internally, firmly bound.
