Second handwritten heading 35 Upper Charltotte Street, Fitzroy Square, not dated. To a curator or secretary of an exhibition regarding the painting "Meg Merrilies [smudged] and the dying Smuggler . Price 150 guineas. Sir If this picture is not sold in Birmingham, you will oblige me by sending it to Edinburgh addressed to Mr. [Jas. ? ] Lauder 24 Fettig Row." Included a four line quotation, presumably from the work by Sir Walter Scott.
