A pesar de su utilidad, a medida que la investigación avanza, haciéndose preguntas más complejas, también se toma conciencia de la rigidez de estas clasificaciones y, lo que es más importante, de su relativa distancia con respecto a una mucho más versátil realidad antigua. Este volumen rastrea los espacios propios de la reunión y el asociacionismo romanos. A través del estudio de fuentes, fundamentalmente textuales y epigráficas, se ponen en pie las raíces jurídicas y sociales de un fenómeno de enorme relevancia en la antigüedad, que contó con espacios propios para el encuentro y la autorepresentación. Estos lugares podrán ser morfológicamente variados, de acuerdo a unas dinámicas de corporativismo también dispares entre sí, tal y como la arqueología se encarga de identificar en los restos materiales conservados. Esta obra, primera dedicada en modo monográfico a estos argumentos, reúne las investigaciones de los principales especialistas europeos, dedicando especial atención, además, al corpus de edificios hispanos, susceptibles de ser reconocidos como espacios de reunión. Elle n'est que le prolongement d'une autre transformation, plus ancienne, qui a touché l'ensemble du monde occidental dès le XVIIIe siècle, où l'on a commencé à déplacer et éloigner les sépultures à la périphérie des villes. La "transition" si ce n'est la rupture qui s'est alors produite en seulement quelques générations est venue bouleverser un régime funéraire qui s'était imposé depuis la fin de l'Antiquité, articulant des espaces destinés aux morts aux lieux sacrés, et faisant cohabiter les vivants et les défunts. Cet ouvrage vient analyser la manière dont s'est mis en place cet effacement progressif à travers les siècles, en tentant de dresser une histoire longue des rapports entre les vivants et les morts.
