He also wrote or co-wrote 20 film scripts, including such noir classics as the secon version of Dashiell Hammett's "The Glass Key", Kenneth Fearing's "the Big Clock", and Cornell woolrich's "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes". Moving to Television, he scripted 45 original stotries and adapted 50 Earle Stanley Gardner novels for the Perry Mason series. Focusing on the detective fiction, he analyzes Latimer's use of puzzle-mystery and tough guy convention in the Chicago and Miami novels of the William Crane series and the Karl Craven "Solomon's Vineyard".
