Vintage borderless oversize photograph of pop artist Larry Rivers standing in front of his piece for the Museum of Decorative Arts' 1962 exhibition "Antagonismes 2." Mimeo snipes on the verso, as well as a PIX agency label, and the stamp of photographer Giancarlo Botti. The exhibition was curated by François Mathey, and featured works by Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, Jean Cocteau, Yves Klein, and many others. Entitled "Turning Friendship of America and France," Rivers' piece featured a double-sided canvas with a turning mechanism at the base. From the archive of the PIX Agency, a photo house that acted as an intermediary between emigre photographers (as well as those still living in Europe) and the American magazine and newspaper market between 1935-1969. 8 x 12 inches, archivally mounted in a white mat measuring 14 x 17 inches.
