With a hand colored map of the southern half of the state by Sidney E. Morse and Samuel Breese, and dated 1847. Lapham [1811-1875] arrived at what was to become the city of Milwaukee in 1836, and this is the second edi…tion of the first significant treatment of the geography of Wisconsin. Lapham went on to study the Indian Mounds of Wisconsin, and was instrumental in helping to create the U.S. Weather Service. No marks in book, binding tight. Light foxing to end papers. Map complete with no foxing, but has old tape repairs to one panel. Covers show one small ink stain on front cover, upper corners bumped, spine sunned with minor chipping along rear hinge. Book condition Good+. Binding: HB. Edition: Second Edition, Greatly Improved.
