Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the origins of the adversarial nature of Western law and legal systems. Its origins stem from the feudal courts of the Middle Ages, with a focus on the adversarial nature of common law as it developed in England and was then exported to its colonies. Some of the themes include the transition of law from oral tradition to written records, the loss of local customs and knowledge, the professionalization of the legal class, and the increasing complexity of legal procedure. It also draws parallels to other legal systems, such as the Roman civil law tradition, to highlight the unique character of adversarial systems. The book provides insights into the historical forces that shaped the adversarial system, its strengths and weaknesses, and its ongoing evolution in the contemporary world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

First Edition
Ğ LES PRÉMICES DES MÉLANCOLIES FIN DE SIÈCLE ET DU GENRE SOMBRE ğ 2 vol. In-12° (140 x 83 mm), [5] ff. - 277 pp. + [2] ff.

Rare exemplaire d'une belle provenance.(B39) PHOTOS NUMERIQUES DISPONIBLES PAR EMAIL SUR SIMPLE DEMANDE-DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPS MAY BE AVAILABLE ON REQUEST. Size: 18,5 x 25. Livre.
