Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 144 line drawings, 91 plates (illustrator). 1st Am ed. VG book, VG DJ(in Brodart). DJ rubbed & edgeworn, spine faded. Chips less than 1/4", tears less than 1/2". This is probably identical to the 1st British edition. It has the same blue cloth and, on the cp, is only the statement "Made & printed in Great Britain by William Clowes & Sons, ltd, London & Beccles". 1956 printing date (from tp) same date as 1st British by Sidgwick & Jackson. NO info pertaining to US, other than "Fairlawn, NJ" on tp. Translated by Alan H Broderick. Examines the rock paintings of Levantine Spain, Scandinavia, Russia and the Bronze Age art of Brittany, England and Ireland. ARNTZEN/ RAINWATER I29.
