This is a book of historical fiction based on the journals of Lewis and Clark in 1804 when they explored the territory of the Great Plains and the Indian Tribes who lived and hunted there. The main characters, Tongo, Little Raven, and Cherry-on-the-bush are added characters from the journals and portray Indian life as it was recorded by Lewis and Clark. They make the journey to the Pacific Ocean and to Washington DC and finally back to the Great Plains. A clean very presentable copy. Philip Von Saltza (illustrator).
