It was written by engineers, architects, and political workers who actually built the Moscow metro which was named after L. M. Kaganovich. Nicely designed book illustrated with on…e original lithograph, 13 original woodcuts, with woodcut ornaments throughout and by duotone photographic reproductions. Decorated endpapers have the metro's distinctive "M". Green cloth with gold lettering has rubbing to edges; spine lettering dulled. Rear cover has darkening to top edge. In the 1930s, Stalin's deputy, Kaganovich, led the building of the first Soviet underground rapid-transport system, the Moscow Metro, known as Metropoliten imeni L.M. Kaganovicha until 1955.
