Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Original 1945 sheet music for the Academy Award-nominated song 'Some Sunday Morning,' written by lyricist Ted Koehler with music by M. K. Jerome and Ray Heindorf for Warner Bros.' Technicolor western San Antonio. The striking photographic cover features stars Errol Flynn and Alexis…Smith, making this an appealing crossover collectible for both Hollywood memorabilia and vintage popular music collectors. The interior contains complete piano, vocal, and guitar arrangements, while the rear cover advertises Remick Music Corporation's 'Magic Melodies' series and an advertisement for Earl Hines' Ivory Icing piano arrangements vertically in the centerfold - both attractive period publishing features. Condition: Overall Very Good. Complete and firmly bound. Moderate general handling wear with numerous cover creases, edge wear, scattered rubbing, and a pronounced vertical center fold from original storage. Additional diagonal creasing is present at the lower front cover, with several small chips and short edge tears along the extremities. Interior pages remain clean and fully legible with only light age toning and expected fold wear. No detached pages, writing, or significant loss of printed music observed. Small close tear horizontal at the center. This is the original 1945 first sheet music edition, supported by the copyright statement "'MCMXLV by Harms, Inc.' on the music pages and its direct promotion of the newly released Warner Bros. film San Antonio. No evidence of later reissue or revised printing is present. Although remembered today primarily as an Errol Flynn western, San Antonio earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song for 'Some Sunday Morning.' The collaboration also united three important figures in American popular music: lyricist Ted Koehler, celebrated for standards written with Harold Arlen; composer M. K. Jerome, known for numerous Hollywood scores; and orchestrator-composer Ray Heindorf, who would later win three Academy Awards for his musical direction.

Add to basketSheet Music. Condition: Very Good-. The Cotton Club Parade was a different musical revue each year at the famed Cotton Club. While the shows may have had similarities there were usually different stars and different numbers. This sheet music for the song "Truckin" comes from 1935. The "Parade" that year featured Nina Mae McKinne…y, Miller and Mantan along with the Claude Hopkins Orchestra. "Truckkin'" became a popular dance at the club and frequent "Truckin" contests were held. This music has only light wear, but the covers were separated at one time. They have been professionally reattached and stabilized with archival tape. This is a wonderful artefact of one of the great showcases for African-American acts -- though African-Americans could not be in the audience -- Whites Only. ; Stylized Images on Front; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 6 with covers pages; Ephemera fair.
