Original publisher's brown cloth boards - gilt embossed to the spine and to the front board with vignette of bishop (?). Black endpapers. Engraved headpieces and a few engravings illustrate the text and a full page plate of the abbey (photogravure?). A former owner's neat ink name, place and date to the reverse of the frontispiece. Edges dyed red as called for. The head and tail of the spine slightly bumped and rubbed. Several board corners a little rubbed. A signed presentation copy of a scarce book.…
