Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Undated Edition, circa early 19th century. Very well illustrated with many B&W Full-page engraved Plates. Frontis. illustrates the martyrdom of Cranmer. Title page has large Vignette of Cranmer persuading Edward VI to execute Joan of Kent. Period Black full-leather binding with 4 raised bands to spine. Much gilt decoration to spine and narrow gilt border to front & back. xlviii/48 preliminary pages including a Life of §John Fox. Main Text 942 p. pages, arranged in double columns. 10 3/4" Tall. Endpapers marbled. Very narrow bit of leather missing at very top of spine and a few little bits at the bottom/. Leather a little worn at tips of corners. Most of the title label missing from spine. No inscriptions. Some staining to side of frontis and title pages (see photos) otherwise pages in very good condition.…
