Not an ex-library copy, this 160-page, 107-year-old offering in fine condition is the first volume in the author's Industrial and Social History Series geared for students in either the primary or intermediate grades. The book features some 60 very distinctive drawings in black and white, 14 of which are full-page renderings, by one Howard V. Brown. Also included are some 26 pages of "Suggestions To Teachers", which begins, "The test of a book is the service it can render. .It is the child of six and a half or seven years for whom this book is intended."
