Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. Third. My friend, Stanley Kaplan, has asked me to write a short preface to this, the 3rd edition of Dr. Alec Kaplan's booklet on the Coins of South Africa. I do this with all the more pleasure because I knew his late father well, and learnt to appreciate him more and more as the years went by. Perhaps it was because we belonged to the same generation, but not entirely so. I think it was rather because both he and I were more interested in the coins themselves than in any money that can be made out of them. That is why his book is still in demand, for apart from the valuations given, it is possible to know what there is to collect in that series, and to classify one's collection accordingly. One more word: when the first edition came out, all the wise-heads pointed the finger of scorn at the estimates of value given, but Dr. Kaplan was entirely right and time has proved him to be so. May I therefore commend this new edition to you and wish it all the success it deserves. Some red pen marks on title page. Excellent copy. ---------- Orders of $100.00 or more are shipped using tracked courier delivery services. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
