His pieces blend ornamental motifs from traditional Persian crafts, such as carpet making, with references to modernist tropes like geometric abstraction, noting the uneasy cultural and political tensions between East and West. The works here include a new series of collages, '7,000 Years,' in which Aram visually deconstructs a mid-20th-century exhibition catalog of ancient Persian artifacts." Includes an interview with the artist conducted by Arthur Ou. Single sheet of light card stock folded to produce 4 pages; 3 color illustrations; 8.5 x 11 inches. Artist and writer biographies.
