Montreal: La Cinematheque canadienne. 1967. 10.5 x 6.5 cm. Flip book in original paper covers; approx 100 leaves creating an animated sequence showing human evolution from caveman to groovy Sixties moptop; very good. First edition, printed as part of the World Retrospective of Animation Cinema. Known as the Nordic Walt Disney, t…he Danish-born Pindal moved to Canada and became a famous, Emmy-award winning animator after creating Peep and the Big Wide World, an educational TV series for children. His 1967 film What On Earth! was released in the same year as the World Retrospective; in its interpretation of human car culture as seen through the eyes of a Martian documentary maker, it shows the same satirical spirit that we see in this flip book.
